I suspect the same thing could be said about the "regular" flu too. There will always be cases of "but he was so healthy!" with any illness. A paper cut given the right environment and right set of circumstances can kill someone.

If people want the shot or feel it's going to get them through the season then I'm all for it. Some of the hysteria over this is a bit over the top for me though, like the billion bottles of anti-bacterial stuff. Something I read a couple of years ago indicated the anti-bacterial stuff isn't necessarily the best thing to use. We have good bacteria on our skill and the goop doesn't discriminate so all bacteria good or bad "dies" which can cause more problems. Also the article implied because of the increased use of this product, there was mutation occurring and this could be a big contributor in the new viruses we're seeing. Perhaps Lchoy or some other people who are more medically in the know can comment on this.

Like Stang's experience, I've known a bunch of people in past years got the shot and then got the flu (and not immediately after the shot). It'll be interesting to see if this occurs with this shot. Given the number of people who will get it, I hope not.

For me, I have no plans to get it, especially next week, but I might change my mind in a few weeks. In the meantime, I was in Mexico in September and ate pig at every meal to ensure I built up a good tolerance and then I've been supplementing with weekly pig eating to keep me going. You know what they say, a ham sandwich a day, keeps the virus at bay.

.I hope the green text is not required, that should be obvious.
