OK...The good news: I am now running Windows 7 Ultimate!
The bad news: It's the 32 bit version. My dad was afraid to make the change, despite my lobbying and reason. Whatever.
I am really impressed with Windows 7 for hour I have been using it. I did a clean install, and it took about forty minutes, including repartitioning the hard drive. No funky error messages or anything. All my hardware works great, and all the software including Norton AntiVirus runs well. The installation was smooth as butter! I had my Vista sized bottle of Tylonol at the ready, but I did not need it!
Boot time is lighting quick (seconds), but that's a given going from a bloated computer to a clean install.
As for the improvements of Windows 7 I have messed around with, I most like some of the simplelest! Being able to add icons to the toolbar keeps my desktop nice and tidy. Also, Aero Peek and Aero Shake are really handy with tons of windows open. I also noticed the new Windows Media Center is slick!
Overall, I am quite happy!

I think it is quite a worthwhile upgrade from Vista.
