I moved out at 18 because I went to university outside of Calgary. I've spent 2 summers back home since, and I found it really difficult to go home. Little things like waking up in silence vs waking up and someone's doing dishes, freedom vs having a fixed schedule of when to eat and when to go to bed and so on.
Downsides are I'm a horrible cook, so its grilled cheese sandwich or a BLT every morning for breakfast, subway or burritos for lunch and pasta or TV dinners for supper every day, and sometimes its nice to have your family around.
