They won't have a choice after it's been banned, either. It's just the lawmakers infringing their rights instead of their religion.
It's not like taking away a garment of clothing is going to do anything to change the subservient role that
some Muslim women are forced into, and the abuse they withstand. Banning burqas would be a move to make ourselves feel good and give the pretense of showing action while doing nothing about the actual problem.
