couple of things that stood out for me.
a) was surprised that they killed off Spock's mother. I could have sworn I saw her in a movie later on in the time line, but maybe I am wrong.
b) I didnt realize that Uhura and Spock were so close?
c) I didnt think Pine protrayed Kirk as I would have expected him to. Maybe I am just having difficulty seeing anyone but Shatner playing Kirk.
d) didnt know the Romulans destroyed Vulcan. Did the Vulcans inhabit a new planet and renamed it Vulcan in the time line?
just a few things that I remember from last night.
Other than that, it was pretty darn cool and a good way to revitalize the franchise.

The moment Nero went back in time and had the skirmish with the USS Kelvin, the timeline changed. Nero continued to change the timeline with his skirmishes with the Klingons and ultimately the destruction of Vulcan and most of the Federation armada.
As a result, the "new" Star Trek exists in an entirely different timeline from the "old" Star Trek (TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY) and none of the events that were previously described will necessarily take place.
For things like games and any future series/movies that take place in the old timeline, Vulcan is intact but Romulus and much of the Romulan Star Empire is destroyed... as Nero went back in time from shortly after that event.
As an aside, this is the version of the film that I am buying on Blu-Ray:
