There is not enough ice time here either. Between 4-5 in the afternoon on weekdays is the only stick and puck time, and it's not all year.

11:30 is nothing. We've had games start at 1AM. I think you might be shocked if you saw how much ice time is in demand here. They had to open several off-ice practice facilities while other rinks are being built. People spend more time at the rink either playing or watching their kids play than they do at Panthers games, that's for sure. I wouldn't judge our area's interest in hockey by Cats' attendance numbers.

Plus while I was kidding about the "too cool" thing...uh.....

The gym I belong to is full of transplanted Canadians, and so is the local rink. And yeah most of them from Ontario and Quebec. And at least half of those are far under retirement age!

At the rinks in LW we have 2 nights for public skating on one rink. That ends at 9. It's all hockey on the other rink, after 9 it's hockey on both. Figure skating takes up the early mornings on one rink.

It's okay if a kid starts alittle shinny...they just don't want some 275 pound guy to bulldoze those who are maybe less skilled.
