I'm the anonymous relative, having gone to only one family reunion on each side of the family through 20 years or more. Generally, the only times I've really interacted with relatives is at the necessity of funerals or an occasional other special event of some kind and consequently know little about aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins etc while they, in turn, have an encyclopedic knowledge of everyone else.

Apparently these kids who were the same age as me have grown up, had kids and even grandkids. This is all very amazing.

So . . . . . Facebook is kind of interesting because there is some interaction now as they gradually appear and ask to be friends. That affords me the chance to leer voyeuristically into their lives and apparently they into mine.

An Aunt and niece actually came to have supper with us a few weeks ago through the renewed frequency of contact of Facebook which caused me to joke that now that one of them knew where I lived, there would be no end to the madness.

You're right. It's time to end this craziness.
