This person isn't cool around the office so how dare they try to start a conversation with you?
It sounds like she was being nice, trying to start a conversation about a topic you are fond of. What is so bad about that.
Do you know anything about her? Or maybe you just don't care.
Be nice to people, get to know them, ask questions about their lives, you'll find there is a lot more going on than meets the eye.
