Yes, but when you back into a stall it is only stationary objects you have to worry about and your visibility is better. When you are backing out of a stall you can't see moving objects as well.
Roughnecks are some of the best drivers I know. Much better than soccer moms in mini-vans. They back up "gingerly" as you put it because they want to park in the stall. I really don't understand what is so difficult to comprehend.
