Being the first team in over 100 years to blow a 3 game lead with 4 to play isn't choking? Going 11-16 down the stretch to blow a 7 game lead isn't choking?

The Tigers did lose game after game, I was there to watch them do it. Swept by the Royals, dropping 3 of 4 to the White Sox when one more win clinches the division, and winning only one series in the last month of the season. The Tigers had game after game at the end of which they needed to win just one to clinch and they choked it away. This is the definition of choke.

BTW, preseason predictions don't mean a damn thing to the issue of whether this is a choke job. All that matters is this team had the division sewn up with a month to play and played so epically bad that they lost it.

If you don't think this is choking you're either way too nice or your definition of choking is incredibly skewed.

BTW, the 2007 Mets went 13-14 over their final 27 games, and 2-6 over their last 8. The 2009 Tigers went 11-16 over the last 27 and 3-5 over their last 8. Is that one loss difference over the last 8 really the difference between choking and not?
