They lost their last three series of the season including 2 series (series) against the White Sox who had nothing to play for and a series against the Twins which would have sealed the deal.
In September they were swept by KC in one series and lost 2 other series to both KC and Toronto.
They may not have been as bad as the Mets were last year but that is some pretty terrible play and seems like a choke to me.

I don't disagree that they did better than what people thought they would but that doesn't affect whether or not they choked.
