I currently drive a Ford Focus wagon because it is functional, offering almost the same interior space as an Escape while being 12k cheaper and being better on gas. I figure when I hit my late 40s/early 50s, I'll be in for a hell of a step-up car. I've told my wife it's going to be an Aston Martin. She just laughed at me.
