I hear what you're saying. Obviously the preference is none of the above, but when faced with the choice I personally drink regular pop vs the diet alternative. Those synthesized sweeteners not only screw with your hormones, they are also carcinogens. Not that regular pop is free of risk - the coatings used inside cans can also leach BPA and similar endocrine disruptors.
Soda is just as evil as cigarettes. Which is better regular or "lite"? Seriously, they both suck.
