i think its silly to want to go/stay on the casual team when the only way to get better is to get experience playing as a team. this whole pro/casual thing i think is about putting the best team out there for the pro league. and when some of our best players want to stay casual to get better, it totally defeats the purpose.

Absolutely. For how bad that game went, it was a really good eye opening experience because it shows what we will need to do as a team in order to compete against elite teams like them.
It really acknowledges the fact that each forward and defender need to be able to make things happen and be a factor on the offensive side of the puck and be able to create plays by puck handling ourselves. Relying on Chuckie mostly to score for us and do all the puck handling work is flat out not going to work against top teams where 3 to all of their players can create good offensive production by smart puck movement and flow in the zone.
We're going to have to work on our playmaking abilities and working the puck around in the zone, espcically on the PP. We have to look more at getting good quality chances rather then just taking shots from far out if it's not there. There may be times when I'm or someone else is open for a pass to continue working a better scoring chances but we take a shot from the point that was an easy save or block shot or head to a crowded area down low. Same time though, don't force passes to areas that aren't there. I know I try to force the cross crease one timer when it's not there instead of retaining posession or passing elsewhere.
If we can utilize each other by working the puck around, while also being able to handle the puck and set things up when we have the puck, will open up the defense and open up the one timers for the slot, shots from the point, deflections, rebound shots offensive players can shoot, crashing the net, and overall better offense production. Patiences and setting up a good scoring chances is why teams like 7 bridges of konigsbergare are successful.
On top of all this though, we still need work on breaking out of our zone. The forwards have to stay down so defenders have short quick passes instead of doing long range passes that are easy to pick off. I know you love the long bomb chuck, but it's pointless to go that far if our defenders can get the puck to you because of too much pressure or the passing lane is contained. We have to work the puck out as a group rather then the indiviual. A lot of teams team just fly back to the blueline, so if we just slow down the play and open outselves for passes rather then force a pass to coverage, it improves our breakout.
