Personally, I always preferred the food at Towa over Globefish - Towa is the best I've had in Calgary. That said, I'm no authority on what is authentic or not.

For a cheap lunch, Dakota Deli on 9th St. has huge wicked donairs. Completely unauthentic, not a rotating meat spindle in sight. And yet, so good.
