You know, I end up watching a lot of what I think are kind of ridiculous Chinese and Shanghainese variety shows and talent contests on TV at my in-laws place. I generally think that they're more than a little cheesy and ridiculous. When I watch that SNL bit though, I think most of what I see here is actually pretty good in comparison with the state of music back in North America if that's what's going on.

Congratulations on being able to sing. Fine voice, but the outfit was stupid and the whole act looked awkward. There was nothing to be impressed by in that as far as I can see. I agree with the poster who wrote that it's a shame when you have to give a performer great respect for actually showing some small modicum of talent.

EDIT: To note, that is the first I have ever actually seen or heard Lady Gaga. I had no idea who she was before seeing this video.
