Had the laparoscopic gall bladder surgery four years ago. Was up and walking within a couple of hours and went home the same day. The only pain I had was where they pump gasses into you so they can access your innards and I had pain in my shoulder for about 24 hours. I didn't care what they did to me though as the pain I had suffered for the previous year waiting for a definitive diagnosis was excruciating - but I did discover that morphine is really good! (One thing my husband discovered on a mercy dash to A&E late one night for a morphine shot and he hit a bad pot hole. The shock shifted the gall stone so we turned the car round and went home!). For the men out there - they say that the pain is as close as a man can ever get to the pain of (a drug free) childbirth. So now you know!

I have not changed my diet since the op in any way. Life completely normal.
