My favorite sandwich of all time is still the classic Tomato Sandwich.
This is how I make it.
2 slices of toasted bread
butter both sides
Cut 2 tomatos
Olive oil
salt and pepper
Fresh onion
2-3 pieces of either calabrese, capicola, or prosciutto, and for optimum flavour any of these pieces must be "heated' in a frying pan.
Another sandwich that used to be good from my college days. Mostly due to the fact it took practically no time to make is.

cut up dill pickels.
mustard
cracker barrel cheese.
