I actually like SS's layout better. The other chains tend to put housewares, cosmetics, hard goods, etc., in the centre aisles and have the produce, bakery, and dairy spread around the outsides of the store. At SS, they have all the hard goods on one side of the store, and the dairy, bakery, and produce are all together.

Second, there seems to always be a screaming baby. Honestly, I don't know what they put in the air but it seems ever time I go, there is a child screaming at the top of his/her lungs.

Good point. I'm pretty sure Safeway is only full of childless couples. If you've ever tried to buy diapers at Safeway, you'd be the one doing the screaming and crying. It's like twice the price. Robbery.

Third, broken carts. I feel like I have a better chance winning Lotto 649 than I do with picking a cart without a stuck wheel.

You got me there. I have to admit those Safeway carts tend to be pretty smooth rides. Probably because they never get used. Most people shopping there are singles who only really need to use a carry basket.

Fourth, now this may get me in trouble but I find their are a number more asians that shop at Superstore. This probably has to do with the much more diverse food selection, however it seems from my experience, that they have much less patience and will mow you down with their cart if you are not careful. I suppose I am stereotyping...

Meh, when in Rome do as the Romans do. I'm like twice the height of those little Chinese ladies. They'll get out of your way so long as you don't blink. It's fun once you get into it.

Fifth, the produce is generally not as good quality as Safeway, COOP, etc.

I think this has to do with the picked over nature of the produce. You need to get their early in the day to get the good stuff. I like the thrill of competition, personally.

Sixth, this is in regards to the Signall Hill location. The parking lot is atrocious. Barely enough room to fit two cars and it is always packed.

Really, if you're willing to walk just a little bit, there's always tons of parking by the Zellers.

It is a combination of everything for me, I can't stand the place and for the most part will stick to Safeway. Sometimes I will go to Walmart and get some dry food (like tuna) and bread/bagels as the price is much better. Even that though, I leave in a bad mood most of the time.

Walmart! Bah, now there's a zoo!
