Yeah, MM is one of the most respected 49er beat writers. Even the other beat writers refer to him.
Edit: I wonder what affect this will have on his manager, Parker's, recruiting? Will players shy away from hiring him for fear he will push to hard and they won't get their contract? Or will it attract them since he knows how to play hardball.
I'd be wary of going with a guy who might cost me a year. I'd prefer to go with a guy who plays hard but gets me to camp on time.
I also wonder if endorsement contracts will include clauses about actually playing. If I had signed Crabtree for endorsements I wouldn't be happy with the way this has worked out.
