I'm pretty sure once you get the notice that you will be suspended then all avenues of getting out of it are gone to you. In fact, to even delay the suspension is a huge feat (ie, your car has to be your main source of income). The defensive driving course you take is meant to be proactive in regards to suspension, not reactive.
