You go ahead and get your shot of detergent, Formaldehyde, and mercury just to try and avoid a flu virus that if you come into contact with you will contract anyhow because nothing in any scientific study has shown that the flu shot prevents getting the flu and even if it did the odds that it will be one of those three it supposedly protects against is like winning the lottery.
Formaldehyde is already produced by your body in much higher amounts than you get from a vaccine. Thimerosal is not remotely the same as methyl mercury or inorganic mercury (the "toxic" forms of mercury), and again the amount you get from a vaccine is low compared to background mercury exposures (you do realize that formaldehyde, mercury etc. are natural substances and that there are a lot of toxins in natural health products?). I've looked into both formaldehyde and various forms of mercury as a toxicologist, and am not concerned at all from the amounts in vaccines.

Public Health Agency stats pretty clearly show that vaccination is very beneficial - the chance of significant adverse effects is very low compared to the chance of significant adverse effects if you get the associated disease; otherwise they wouldn't offer them. Contrary to what some conspiracy theory types believe, the government and your doctor want you to be healthy.

Also, my doctor is not making money from recommending that I get vaccinated - I get it done at a public clinic (where it's free, because the government has realized it's cheaper to vaccinate people than to treat illnesses or have too many people off work sick). Doctors and pharmacy companies would make more money if you got sick than they do from vaccinating you.
