I think the Raiders played an okay game against the Chargers, but that the Chargers aren't all that great of a team either. In fact I think the Chargers defence is average at best and that their offence would be pretty suspect without Rivers.
The Raiders won't be winning no 8 games this year because they have to play 9 games against real football teams and they already blew one of their 6 Division games.
I'm sorry but the Raiders still suck. Just not as bad as the Chiefs. Denver will work them next week. One might argue that of all the 2-0 teams in the NFL right now...Denvers wins are as impressive as anyones save the New York Jets, they beat the Bengals in Cinci, and the Bengals in turn beat the Packers, who beat the Bears who just beat the Steelers. This all after I thought the Bronco's could be pretty terrible too. Yeah the NFL has been that way through two weeks.

The Raiders need Russell to play better. At one point (perhaps the end of the first 1/2) he was 3/13. The run game looks like it could be very potent, but they need Russell to be able to hit receivers in order to keep the defense honest. If he doesn't, McFadden and Bush are going to see 8 in the box every down. Other than the QB position, the Raiders have a lot of bright spots. Run defense still needs some work, but they're better.
I don't buy any of the team A beat team B who beat team C who etc... I could argue that the Chiefs managed 24 points against the Ravens defense, but only 10 against the Raiders, therefore the Raiders defense is better than the Ravens (actually I think that might be true). It's all about "any given Sunday", how the team games plans the entire week, injuries, penalties, etc...
I like the fact that the Raiders get divisional games the first 3 games of the season. Versus Denver will be a good indicator of where the Raiders are in the division. There was no doubt that the Chiefs were going to be the worst team by a good margin and the Broncos and Raiders were going to be close. With the Chargers not looking sharp at all, perhaps it's closer between Denver, San Diego and Oakland than I thought at the beginning of the year.
