For me anything other less then 20 grams over was fine. Hell, if my manager was pushing that sales were low, I'd make sure there was usually an extra slice over the asked for weight. But I really didn't give a crap what my customers thought since I was a rather surly deli clerk and most of them were really annoying.
Because I was so fascinated by his amazing generosity, I didn't really pay attention the first time. But the next time it happened, I watched. He cleared the scale, then he punched in a weight (150g), then the product code, and just printed the sticker. Must be some new-fangled scales at that deli that weren't in existence back in 1923 when you were in school.
