Listen, if you need to feel like a gangster go for it. Its just funny as hell to most other people who think you're a nerd. I'll ask this question to all the rap fans. What part of the music do you relate to? Is it just the soundtrack you enjoy or the actual lyrics? Sadly I dont relate to the repeatitive themes of violence, drugs, and ignorance. In the event you havent noticed its been the exact same material for the last 20 years.

Dismissing any genre of music based on a bare-bones understanding of what is going on in the mainstream of that genre is pretty stupid. I imagine that you'd be upset if someone told you your taste in music was juvenile because three-chord rock sucks and the subject matter of boy-meets-girl, boy-loses-girl hasn't changed for the last fifty-years.
The mainstream of every genre is pretty lousy because it caters to the lowest common denominator. Every type of music has geniuses in it, it's just unfortunate that they are frequently far from the most successful. I think it was Jay-Z who said, "If success was based on talent, Talib Kweli would be where I am today" or words to that effect.
Getting back to the topic of Kanyeezee: you gotta respect someone who's got the confidence to say whatever idiot thing enters their head no matter what audience they are facing.
