yes. dd-wrt allows you to turn certain routers into much more powerful ones. it started with the linksys wrt54g and spread from there. if i recall correctly, linksys decided to use linux for the router and then because of that had to release their firmware code because of the gpl license.

several years ago when i was investigating a new router purchase, i stumbled upon it. on their forums, they actually suggested at the time that buffalo technologies put out better quality routers.

obviously everyone has different needs, but just wanted to put a plug in for what i think is a great product.
