When it comes to ranking Benny you must look at the following factors:
- The Sauce - should be the right consistency and not too rich. It should be flavorful but not make you feel bloated.
- The Egg - fluffy white, nice runny yoke without being gross. Hard yoke - no good!
- The Muffin - Must be fresh and soft. Now if an establishment is choosing to use a base other than the English Muffin I will give it a shot, but in my vast Benny experience the EM is the best choice.
Now you then also have to consider the meat ingredient. Ham is the standard, but Salmon is the best....
Finally the sides - I like my Benny with shredded hash browns and some fresh fruit. Ultimately we are assessing Benny, but if you're serving it up with "tater tots" or some other lame ass side dish, chances are you won't land high on my rankings.
Similarily if you can't serve up a nice cup a coffee with my Benny that's also no good.
