Stamps played great out there yesterday. Reynolds should be a lock for offensive player of the week, he hasn't played many games better than that one in his career. He great at breaking tackles and dragging guys, but last night was a step up from that. Joffrey was dragging guys, getting 2-4 extra yards with two Eskimos hanging on nearly every play. Runs that should have been for no gain turned into gains of 4, and runs that should have been 4 turned into gains of 8. And with all that, he tacked on 58 or so yards of receiving, plus Cornish's TD run was set up by the fact that Edmonton hadn't been able to stop Reynolds all game, so they had to respect that.

Another thing is how completely the Stamps D shut down Edmonton's running game. Held them to 4 yard in the first half, and it's not like Edmonton didn't try to run early, those 4 yards were gained on what must have been 6 or 7 attempts. In the second half, Edmonton was behind, and had to abandon the run altogether.

The pass defense was pretty good too, sure Ray had a lot of completions, but mostly they were for short yardage, and Edmonton didn't get yards after the catch on too many passes, certainly not like last game. The DBs were right there on almost every catch. If it wasn't for Ray's accurate throws, it would have been an especially rough night for the Esks, even more than it was. I don't think Edmonton's receivers caught one ball all night that was thrown deep. I don't remember any. Edmonton's passing yardage at the end of the game was totally misleading, their passing game was mostly ineffective as well.

Calgary totally won the feild position battle too, they said on the radio while I was coming home from the game that Edmonton's best starting position was their own 39. it's tough to get points when you have to gain so many yards to even get into field goal range.
