Well again hyundais aren't bad but hondas are better hands down. A used civic is a great choice. An even better choice if you want something more upscale is an Acura EL or CSX. You could find an el for sure in that range...not sure about a csx. Both those Acura models ate sister cars to the civic and very nice with some classy touches.
If you're more of the kind of guy/gal that sees a car as a means to get you from a to b then you're best off with a civic.
You can be very confident in a long life with your civic and it'll always look nice IMO if you keep it maintained and waxed. The Hyundai, I believe, will nit age nearly as well and will for sure not run as tight. There's a reason every Hyundai over 10 years old looks like a pos...they just don't age well.
