As someone who holds citizenship with both nations, this is an interesting question, indeed.
I suppose the nations are similar enough that the real every day differences might not be substantive... depending on the height of the conflict and visible military presence for civilians.
Realistically, though, I don't think very many Americans would be in support of a war against Canada. The disagreement to start such a war on Canadian soil would need be obscenely significant or heinous, and in that case, Canadians' opinions on the subject might even be in support of America (this is unlikely, but hypothetically, you never know).
Besides blatantly egregious infringements on human rights on either side, I'd likely stay neutral. Unless I was conscripted by one or the other... that could cause some confusion!
