I know this is just for arguments sake, but realistically, an annexation of Canada by the U.S. would probably not happen under the threat of a gun. The U.S. has the ability to crush Canada economically and pretty much take our resources at wholesale any time they want.
I think they could take us over without a single soldier, although it would probably take a few decades of undermining our sovereignty to the point that Canada became a puppet sate or satellite of the U.S., then eventually was annexed through an Anschluss-like take over.
As for the actually question, I don't know if I'd fight back if the U.S. regime was still allowing personal freedom and a similar standard of living. If my way of life and freedom was not under threat, I'd probably rather live as an American than die as a Canadian nationalist. If the U.S. had been corrupted by a dictator or terrible regime, then I'd join a resistance.
