I have to agree with Jay on this one. Urban Meyer even says that the only difference between those teams and BCS schools is depth. I'm too tired to find the interview, and he has stated it several times, that the ones on a team like Utah are as good as everywhere else.

Hot rumors, that won't go awa,y is that the Pac 10 is looking to enhance it's tv market before the contract is up in 18 months. Utah and Colorado are the first choices and that would increase the tv market by 20% over what it is currently. Sounds like the Pac 10 teams aren't happy with playing each other every year either.

Not sure if Colorado would bolt from the big 12 as they have turned down a Pac 10 invite before. Big 12 does pay on a tiered system so it isn't fair to some schools. Pac 10 values research institutions and that is where Utah really excels. Pac 10 and the Big 11 have a research alliance and it sounds like those schools bring in far more money from that then sports.

If Colorado won't go then I'm sure TCU would and the Dallas market would be a great market for recruiting.

The only way to solve the great debate of who is better is to play it on the field. A playoff, even if it started with just eight teams, would eventually grow. Look at March Madness it didn't start off with 65 teams but it has grown into it.

It would be nice if they busted down some of the Div 1 schools and made them drop down to Div II. Schools like Idaho, Wyoming, Utah State etc. should drop down and force all the big boys to play each other.
