I would agree that Backlund hasn't proven himself as a NHL pro yet and that is key. Both prospects can demonstrate some outstanding ability but the holes will create problems with their game. As mentioned in the previous post, Schremp seems to have been a good example of this.
This is going to be the real test for Backlund. No matter where he starts to play, he isn't going to have a serious injury to work his way through, nor is he going to be started on the lowest lines. We will learn a lot about him.
