Ten years ago, they used to have to inflate a pillow that would hold your head in place as the procedure was done. Now, the lasers track the position of your eye many times a second. If you stay relatively still (and you will, there's not much room under there), you're fine.

I had complications from my laser eye surgery- corneal haze. (I had PRK done, if you are getting LASIK, especially with an Intralase laser (I think) there's much less odds of that being a problem. The odds of you getting a severe case like mine are minuscule. My reccomendation whoever your doctor is, whatever procedure you get, is to get one eye done at a time. That way, in the very unlikely event something goes abnormally, both your eyes aren't in trouble.
