A simple suggestion that I think would probably help quite a bit. Rent a carpet wetvac (almost a steamcleaner) from Home Depot. It'll cost your $30+/- and just soak the crap out of the interior (especially the headliner). It should work wonders in removing the bulk of the stench if you use a fair amount of carpet detergent I'd think.
