I think a guy has to take Backlund until MSP can prove he can play the north american game. If he came over and played well in the Dub or OHL, then yeah, he is gonna be good. But maybe he cant handle the physicality. At least we know that Backlund plays well on the smaller ice surfaces. And has actually acquitted himself quite well in his first NHL game. Of course it WAS against the Islanders.

But dont get me wrong, MPS was awesome at world juniors, he was definitely more dynamic than Backlund in the games i saw. I think he could be a good player.
I adopt a wait and see approach to everyone though.

PS. I hate these fffffffking lame threads, but i am inexplicably drawn to post on CP.
