The idea for me is that my work/life balance is completely out of whack right now. I don't want to get into a lot of my personal laundry in this thread - but I've got a lot of balls in the air. I missed 3.5 months of work earlier this year due when I was placed on short-term disability as I started sorting out some health issues.
So while I appreciate the support I'm receiving at work in terms of professional development, I think I need less time at the office and more time to sort out my personal life.

So what I garner from this is:
Your company likes / appreciates you and wants you to take on greater responsibilities and..
you have a legitimate reason for scaling back hours... so I'd go with a 1-2.
Companies are starting to appreciate good talent, if you get a good vibe from your company I think it's a risk you take.
Not so ######ed in my opinion.
