Technically that was the upgrade to ilife, the package of programs that comes with the mac. This upgrade is significantly less flashy ... it's more of an "under the hood" kind of thing. Some things off the top of my head that are cool to the casual user:
- Startup speeds are greatly improved
- Smaller footprint means the operating system will free up approx. 7 gigs of hard drive space
- You can take videos of your screen and upload to youtube (great for when your parents ask you a computer question over the phone)
- Quicktime is now essentially Quicktime Pro (you can edit movies and such)
- Items in the dock will behave slightly differently
Beyond that it's more stuff that gets developers all jacked up. Like the 64 bit thing. I keep reading about how awesome it is, but I haven't a single clue what it is.
