My experience in the Recreational Plus level is that there are very few showoffs. The teams that win utilize all of their players. It's 4 vs 4 not including goalies, so everybody gets a good chance with the ball.
At Recreational Plus level, a pretty high percentage of the players have played organized hockey. I enjoy the challenge as a player, but man oh man do I ever get whupped as a goalie. I think I would want to drop down to Recreational perhaps for next season. If we can find a good goalie (AKA not me
), and some players on our team have played organized hockey, Recreational Plus may work.
There still would be standings, and the same rules generally apply, it just would be more fun.
