What does this even mean? We all know that an inmate is a prisoner. They are just interchangeable words. It's no different than me saying "you think you have a car, but you really have an automobile. You've been tricked".
Anyway, comparing our (by our I mean "us") situation to slavery is ridiculous. The people reading this forum live easier and longer lives than 99.9% of all the other people that have ever been alive. That's not generally how slaves were treated in the past.
If, as you seem to believe, there is some sinister overlord out there pushing all the buttons and enslaving us without our noticing, he's not doing a bad job.
