If the province owns my car then why is it unlawful for the province to take my car unless it is being used in a way that violates the law?

Edit: I just re-read why you think I'm married to the province and my wife (assuming I had one) and that doesn't make any sense. If it is similar to salvage laws, then wouldn't I be ONLY married to the province as it is the entity that claimed my registration?

For that matter if I haven't registered my car then why is it legal for the province to just take it away from me if I'm driving it, not doing anything illegal, other than driving it without being registered? By your reasoning if I haven't registered it then it is unlawful for the province to take it from me as they don't own it.
oohhhhh i'll take a crack at that and channel my inner free man.

its legal for them to take it if you're driving without registration because you've consented to abide by an act which authorizes them to do so. its kind of a catch 22 and the only way to get around it is to revoke your consent to be governed by these acts.
