Pylon, with a record of 12-3, maybe your team should try out the B division. Although, the Demons were in my division to start the year and went 7-2-1 before being bumped up to your C division. Since, they have gone 1-4 ... maybe the divisions are quite a bit better as you move up.

We did have a good summer I will admit. We have a couple players that will not be returning that are a signifigant reason why are record was so good. That being said, we also have an unbelievable goalie, probably one of the best in the entire NCHL, and that has always been a huge factor in our success. Our first season together, we had games where he would end up with 60+ shots and still keep the score respectable.
As far as the difference between divisions in the NCHL, A is pretty fast, and has a lot of ex Junior or University guys, but the difference between B and C is more or less going to be speed. The best C teams could beat the worst B teams and vice versa. We probably would have made an ok B team if went to that division but we wouldn't have gone 12-3.
All in all, NCHL is a pretty good league, and their lack of tolerance for dirty play, and fighting tends to keep things pretty much under control. Usually if the refs see things getting too rowdy between two players, as opposed with slapping guys with misconducts and major penalties that can get you kicked out of the league pretty fast, they will give you each two and just tell you to go home so things don't escalate. I actually do respect that. Take the fuel away from the fire. I've had my share of go home earlies, and always about 10 minutes after, you realise it was for the better.
