There is, I've read a few here and there on the net.
I'll preface this by saying I'm no nutritionist and I'm not an expert, but I've tried just about every supplement there is or has been over the last 15 years (not including the illegal ones, of course).
I can only speak from experience, and it's my experience that creatine leads to a high rate of injuries. Exactly from what though, I can't tell you. I went on it years back when I was playing a lot of rugby (as did half the team) and almost everyone ended up getting buggered up from pulled muscles or major joint pain, which occurred at a waaaaaaay higher rate than normal (nevermind the massive IBS it caused when supplemented with protein, but that story was actually pretty funny). Our group conclusion was that it's not worth it.
I can only say that based on the wiiiiiide array of supplements I've seen (and this includes pretty much ALL the illegal ones too) you're better off eating right, exercising regularily, adjusting your workouts depending on what you're trying to accomplish, and supplementing with protein and vitamins. Too much in one direction and you're either going to get fat when you come off it, or get injured when you're on it.
Again, that's only speaking from my experience. I'm the kind of person that needs to try something to make up my mind, so if you're like me I'd say give 'er. When I was on it I was never really concerned with the long term problems, just the short term injury problems it seemed to cause.
