Not So Fab Five
Raleigh, NC - Carolina Hurricanes Manager Hanna Sniper announced today the duo signings of Free Agent goaltenders Johan Hedberg and Brent Johnson.
Johnson and Hedberg now create a lock jam between the pipes in Carolina as they join fellow netminders Pascal LeClaire, Craig Andersson and Stephen Valiquette.
When ‘Canes GM Hanna Sniper was questions about the signings after the deals was announced Hanna responded “you can never have enough depth, this pretty much guarantees that our goaltenders will show up to camp this year in shape and ready to play. It should be a highly competitive camp. We’ve identified our goaltending to be an issue this year, and this addresses it.”.
Johan Hedberg played in 33 games for the NHL Thrashers last season with a 13-12 record and a 3:49 GGA. Brent Johnson played for the NHL Capitals in 21 games posting a 12-6 record with a 2:81 GGA
With the goaltending issue resolved in Carolina the Hurricanes looks to fill out their Defence pairings and securing four more forwards before heading into training camp.
