Personally, when I was swimming a great deal, I was ravenous. There wasn't enough food ever to shovel down fast enough after swimming a hard mile.
However, running is a rather fantastic appetite suppressent . . . . . I have to force myself to eat after a longer run. The longer the run, the lower the appetite.
Maybe it is dependent on what you're doing or the environment.
