Frank Thomas, BJ Ryan, AJ Burnett, Lyle Overbay, Vernon Wells, Alex Rios and others. Only good move he made was Rolen but it comes with a huge price as well. But at least Rolen performed very well as a Blue Jays especially defensively.
Hopefully the Jays can get rid of Rios' huge salary and also Wells. Sign the Doc next season. Start putting some young players like Travis Snyder in the lineup. If they can't get rid of Scott Downs as a closer move him as a middle reliever.
Jays made a mistake hiring him. As I mentioned in the sports book thread, Moneyball was all the rage at that time and Jays hired a Moneyball guy.

But if you've read Moneyball you'll understand why it can't work for the Blue Jays. It may have worked for the A's in an easy division but it could never work the against the Yankees and Red Sox.

The main protagonists of Moneyball are Giambi and the big three, Zito, Hudson and Mulder.. where are they now?

The only good player from that era of the A's is/was Swisher who the A's drafted in the 1st round when he wasn't on anyone radar.
