Actually, and ironically, I think it is completely on topic in this case. One of the central tenets of most conspiracy theories is that the people in charge ("the man") is working to cover up, hide and stifle discussion on the truth™. So your edict, and the discussion they created, fit this thread perfectly!
Of course, the better conspiracies have impossible numbers of people working to suppress the truth™. Which is, I might add, part of why I absolutely love your coming in and telling the other conspiracy nut not to start a new thread on 9/11.
