And I don't know why you put forget in quotation marks. The guy buys a pass every month. It's not like the price of the pass is pro-rated. He's still going to pay the full $75 or whatever it is. It does him absolutely no good to "forget".
Well, I don't NORMALLY speed (just play along), but the one time I did, the cop wrote me a ticket.

Should the ticket get thrown out because I only did it once? Should the cop believe me just because I say I usually don't speed?

To me, these are both petty crimes that shouldn't have the punishment rate that they do, but if you do the crime you do the time. That's what people bring up in other threads. You know, those law-abiding citizens that are the lifeblood of Calgarypuck.

I'm not saying I would have written him a ticket, because if I were the officer, I might have given a warning. In fact, I fully support fighting the ticket. But the transit officer was just doing their job, within their jobly parameters.
