Sorry, your flat out wrong. They didn't settle on the kijiji price. So the fact it's offered on kijiji is totally irrelevant.
They negotiated off that price, the counter is completely dependant on how it's worded if you ever wanted to go to court. If I post something, the OPer says I'll give you 125, and I reply back "um well do you think 100 is a fair price". I didn't offer at 100, I'm just doing price discovery in the eyes of an arbitrator or court.
Probably way too much science for this example, but it's important to know how's its worded to know if you have a binding offer. You and many others are jumping to the conclusion that there was an offer ... without seeing the exact words we don't know.
However as I said before regardless of the wording, he sounds like a ###### and the OPer is doing the right thing by walking away.
