FYI I believe it was the OP who countered with $100.
The seller then sent address and phone number. To me that means he/she accepted but I dont know how that would work vis a vi the law. Its common practice on Kijiji Craigslist but whether that would stand up in court is a whole other story.
To clear clutter in my condo I have sold about 9 itmes in the last 60 days.
For Calgary at least Craigslist is a waste of time. I sold every item through Kijiji even though I posted each item on both sites. Never accept personal cheques. Only cash, for the large items I did accept Paypal, although the buyer has to trust that I am not a scammer. Paypal allows someone to pay with Credit Card, also has pament protection of sorts.
For those sites I reccomend the following.
Create 2 user accounts. Post one with the price you want + 15%. That will get you bids from normal people. Then with the other account post the item but with a 200% markup. That will get normal offers from the lowballers who have nothing better to do with their time than surf those sites.
